Description

Application Purpose: The Mega Up North Rebuild: Fullerton to Addison Project Will Make Improvements to the Metra Up-N Line on a Two-Mile Corridor from the Addison Street to Fullerton Avenue Rail Bridges. The Project Will Replace 11 Bridges Along a 2-MILE Corridor on Metras Up-N Line from 750 Feet North of the Addison Street Bridge to the South Branch of the Chicago River Just South of Fullerton Avenue. To Support the Bridge Replacements New Retaining Walls Will Be Constructed Along the Corridor Between Each Bridge. IN Addition to Replacing 11 Bridges the Addison Street Bridge Will Be Rehabilitated to Extend Its Service Life.; Activities Performed: The Project Will Replace 11 Bridges Along a 2-MILE Corridor on Metras Up-N Line from 750 Feet North of the Addison Street Bridge to the South Branch of the Chicago River Just South of Fullerton Avenue. To Support the Bridge Replacements New Retaining Walls Will Be Constructed Along the Corridor Between Each Bridge. IN Addition to Replacing 11 Bridges the Addison Street Bridge Will Be Rehabilitated to Extend Its Service Life.; Expected Outcomes: This Project Is Expected to Improve the State of Good Repair of the Metra Up-N Corridor Improve Transit Speeds and Reliability and Improve Safety.; Intended Beneficiaries: This Project Will Benefit All Riders on the Metra Up-N Line. Additionally the Project Will Benefit Users of the Streets Under the Bridges and the Streets Adjacent to the Up-N Line Between Fullerton Avenue and Addison Street.; Subrecipient Activities: None
