Application Purpose: This Grant Which Includes Section 5337 and Section 5307 Funding Is to Be Used by Metra for Rehabilitation and Improvements Throughout the Six-County System to Bring Existing Assets Into a State of Good Repair and Renew the Rolling Stock Fleet.; Activities Performed: Activities Will Include Rail Car and Locomotive Improvements and Rehabilitation Keeping the Railroad Right-Of-Way Bridges and Retaining Walls in a State of Good Repair Various Improvements to Yard Facilities Signal and Communications Equipment Electrical Power Distribution and Station Facilities as Well as Oversight Over These Projects and Design of Upcoming Projects.; Expected Outcomes: The Projects to Be Funded by This Grant Will Help Reduce Metras State of Good Repair Backlog Replace Outdated and Obsolete Equipment Improve Service Reliability and Efficiency.; Intended Beneficiaries: The Projects to Be Funded Under This Grant Will Benefit Metra Riders Throughout the Six-County Region That Metra Serves.; Subrecipient Activities: There Are No Subrecipients on This Grant.
