Description

This Application Is to Request Section 5307 Funds Apportioned to the Chicago IL-IN Uza in the Amount of $508767502 and Round Lake Beachmchenrygrayslake IL-WI Uza in the Amount of $4818755 for a Total Amount of $513586257. Purpose: These Funds Will Be Used to Prevent Prepare for and Respond to Coronavirus and Will Cover the Operating Costs Incurred Between January 20 2020 and December 31 2027. These Funds Will Supplement IL-2020-018-00 Cares Act Operating Assistance and IL-2021-024-00 Crrsa Act Operating Assistance Which Are Insufficient to Cover Eligible Operating Expenses Within This Period.activities to Be Performed: The Funding Will Be Used for Costs Necessary to Operate Maintain and Manage the Metra Commuter Rail Public Transportation System. Expected Outcomes: The Funding Will Ensure Metra Is Able to Continue to Operate While Fare Revenue Is Severely Diminished Due to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. Additionally This Funding Will Ensure Metra Can Provide Commuter Rail Services That Help the Community Recover from the Severe Social and Economic Impacts of COVID-19.INTENDED Beneficiaries: Metra Its Customers and the Chicago Region at Large Will Benefit from Activities to Be Funded Under This Grant.subrecipient Activities: There Are No Subrecipients to This Grant.the Recipient Agrees That If IT Receives Federal Funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) or Through a Pass-Through Entity Through the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act a Different Federal Agency or Insurance Proceeds for Any Portion of a Project Activity Approved for Fta Funding Under This Grant Agreement IT Will Provide Written Notification to Fta and Reimburse Fta for Any Federal Share That Duplicates Funding Provided by FEMA Another Federal Agency or an Insurance Company. The Arp Act Legislation Includes Supplemental Appropriations to Support the Transit Industry During the Coronavirus Pandemic (See Table 2 - Fy 2021 Arpa Section 5307 Urbanized Area Apportionments on the Fta Arpa Website). Rta as the Designated Recipient for the Chicago IL-IN Urbanized Area and Round Lake Beach Urbanized Area Developed the Attached Apportionment Letter to Distribute These Funds Between the Various Sub-Areas Within the Urbanized Area. The Dollar Amount $1496974311 Is Split Between the Three Chicago Area Service Boards and All Arpa Funds Will Be Awarded Solely Through the 5307 Program Reserved Under a Specific Accounting Code (2021.32.90.PV.1).THE Following Documents Are Attached to This Application:rta Apportionment Letterletter of Understanding Between Rta and Nirpc Letter of Understanding Between Rta and Sewrpc
