HYCC-3 Is a Key Element of the Gateway Program, a Program of Regional and National Significance Designed to Preserve and Improve Current Services and Create New Capacity That Will Allow the Doubling of Passenger Trains on the Northeast Corridor (Nec) Between Newark, New Jersey, and Penn Station New York (Psny). HYCC-3 Is the Westernmost and Final Section of the Hudson Yards Concrete Casing Row Preservation Project. Together, the Three Hycc Sections Will Preserve the Critical Row in NYC Totaling Approximately 1,400 Feet.the Scope of the HYCC-3 Project Includes the Following Key COMPONENTS:1. Long Island Railroad (Lirr) Emergency Services Building (Esb) Utility Relocation (Early Work). This Building and Many Utilities Are Directly Above the HYCC-3 Footprint. Utility Relocation Is Underway to Allow for the Full Construction of HYCC-3. The Utilities Will Berelocated and the Esb Will Be RELOCATED.2. HYCC-3 Underground Casing Structure. HYCC-3 Will Be Approximately 550 Feet Long, Between 50 and 65 Feet Wide and Between 27 and 38 Feet High. Its Structure Will Consist of Heavily Reinforced Concrete Ranging from 3.5 to 10-FEET Thick to Support Future Loading from the Overbuild Platform. A Waterproofing Membrane Will Cover Its Perimeter. HYCC-3 Project Will Ensure State of Good Repair and Improve Both Amtak and NJ Transit Service Reliability by Supporting Projected Ridership Growth.
