Description

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Wmata) Is Applying for $69920000 in FFY2022 Section 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Program Funds for Bus and Van Replacement and Bus Preventive Maintenance. The Bus Preventive Maintenance Activities in This Award Satisfies the 0.75% Requirement for Section 5307 Funds Being Spent Towards Safety Improvements. This Request Is Consistent with the Suballocation of Funds Agreed to Among the Three Recipients Within the Urbanized Area (Uza) of the District of Columbia Virginia and Maryland. Wmatas Split Letter Is Attached to This Application. These Funds Require a 20% Local Match in the Amount of $17480000. The Non-Federal Share Will Be Provided by the District of Columbia the State of Maryland and Participating Jurisdictions in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This Application Will Fund the Ongoing Programs Outlined Below. Purpose of Award: Application Supports Wmatas Capital Improvement Program for FY2023 and Rolling Stock Replacement Program and Bus Preventive Maintenance and Rehabilitation.activities to Be Performed: Replacement of Buses and Vans Which Have Met Their Useful Life and Bus Rehabilitation and Preventive Maintenance.expected Outcomes: Continue to Provide a Safe and Reliable Transportation for the Public.intended Beneficiaries: Project Beneficiaries Are Wmatas Employees and Customers Who Commute Within or Connect to Public Transit with the DC-VA-MD Uza.subrecipient Activities: There Are No Subrecipients Associated with This Award.
