Every ranking on TheFiscalFinder is a CSV file you can download: 19 rankings, one file per ranking and fiscal year, 127 files in all, FY2020 to FY2026. Each file is the table its ranking page shows, row for row, in the same order.

Everything in one file

One zip with all 127 CSV files in a rankings folder and a manifest.json that lists each file's ranking, fiscal year, status, row count, size and SHA-256 checksum, with the license and the source.

The ranking files are published by TheFiscalFinder under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, share and adapt them for any purpose, including commercially, as long as you credit TheFiscalFinder and link to this page. Suggested credit:

TheFiscalFinder computes the rankings from that data as loaded; the license above covers the rankings and these files, not the government's figures. Each fiscal year's data date:

What is in a file

UTF-8, comma-separated, one header row, CRLF line endings (RFC 4180). The columns:

rank
The row's position in the ranking for that fiscal year.
rank_fy<prior year>
The same name's position a fiscal year earlier; empty when it was not in that year's data. Present when the earlier year is loaded for the ranking.
name
The name as the ranking page shows it.
page
The page on TheFiscalFinder the row opens.
fy<year>, or fy<year>_year_to_date
The ranked amount in dollars. The second form while the fiscal year is still in progress.
fy<prior year>
The same name's amount a fiscal year earlier, in dollars; empty when it was not in that year's data.
change_percent
The change from the prior year, in percent. Only when both years are complete; empty when the prior amount is under $1 million or the change is more than 999%.
detail
The line under the name on the ranking page, for example how many agencies fund it.
