Application Purpose: The Purpose of the Award Is to Fund the Replacement of Up to 24 Rail Vehicles (or 32% of Its Fleet) Including Locomotives and Passenger Cars That Have Exceeded or Are Near the End of Their Useful Life. This Project Replaces and Modernizes Sfrtas Rail Fleet Improves Safety and Better Connects the Communities of South Florida Through the Replacement of Outdated Locomotives and Passenger Cars with State-Of-The Art Technology.; Activities Performed: Acquisition of Up to 24 Rail Vehicles That Include Locomotives and Passenger Cars.; Expected Outcomes: The Project Will Provide Safer More Efficient and More Reliable Rolling Stock Minimize Service Disruptions on the South Florida Rail Corridor (Sfrc) and Improve Accessibility for More Than 4.5 Million Annual Tri-Rail Riders.; Intended Beneficiaries: Sfrta Riders Employees Contractors and the South Florida Community Will Benefit from Improved Safety and Reliability of the New Rolling Stock.; Subrecipient Activities: N/A
