Because Tdcs Do Not Allocate Actual Money Towards Project Expenses a 100% Federal Share Is Reflected Where the Credit Is Applied. Purpose of the Awardthe Purpose of the Grant Is to Support the Purchase of Alternative Fuel Replacement Buses Rideshare Vanpool Program and Bus Engine Repowers to Provide Efficient and Dependable Transit Service. Activities to Be Performedthe Orange County Transportation Authority Is Hereby Submitting This Grant Application for the Following PROJECTS:1. Octa Is Requesting $45559945 in FFY2017 FFY2020 and FFY2021 Cmaq Section 5307 Funding to Support the Second Phase of the Purchase of 40-FOOT Alternative Fuel Replacement Vehicles. The Total Number of Vehicles to Be Procured Under the Program of Projects Will Be Up to 165 Vehicles. This Second Phase of the Project Will Support the Procurement of Up to 68 New 40-FOOT Low Floor Compressed Natural Gas Buses to Replace 68 Octa Buses That Have Reached the End of Their Useful Life Based on Mileage and Will Be Disposed of in Accordance with Federal Requirements. These New Vehicles Will Have an Expected Useful Life of 12 Years And/OR 500000 Miles and Will Be Disposed of in Accordance with Federal Requirements. These Buses Will Meet the Clean Air Act (Caa) Standards and the American with Disabilities Act (Ada) Requirements. Octa Will Be Able to Operate and Maintain These Vehicles. 2. Octa Is Requesting $4500000 in FFY2020 Federal Section 5307 Cmaq Flex Funds to Support the Operation of Octas Rideshare Vanpool Program in Orange County for Approximately Four Years by Partially Funding the Capital Lease Costs and Other Activities. Octa Provides Capital Lease Subsidies to Vanpools in the Amount of $400 to $500 Per Month. The Average Number of Vanpools in the Program in Early 2020 Was 546 and Has Been Reduced to 115 Currently Due to the Impacts of COVID-19. The Average Roundtrip Length Is 36.02 MILES.3. Octa Is Requesting $12526000 in FFY2009 and FFY2021 Cmaq Funding to Support the Replacement of Approximately 173 Engines for 157 40-FOOT and 16 60-FOOT Buses. Octa Operates a Fleet of 173 New Flyer Xcelsior Compressed Natural Gas-Powered Buses Model Year 2016 That Are Due for Midlife Overhaul Maintenance Which Includes Engine Replacement. The 173 Buses Include One Hundred Fifty-Seven Model Year 2016 New Flyer Xcelsior 40-FOOT Buses and Sixteen Model Year 2016 New Flyer Xcelsior 60-FOOT Articulated Buses That Have 8.9L Cummins Isl-G Engines Currently. These Buses Operate an Average of Approximately 50000 Miles Per Year and Midlife Overhaul Maintenance Is Typically Completed at 300000 Miles. This Project Will Support the Replacement of Up to 173 Engines for These Buses.expected Outcomesthis Grant Will Allow Octa to Continue to Provide Public Transit Services to Residents of Orange County Thus Reducing Vehicle Miles Traveled and GHG Emissions.
