Application Purpose: The Purpose of This Award Is to Provide Funding to Projects That Were Selected Through the Metropolitan Councils 2018 and 2022 Regional Solicitations a Competitive Process to Award Federal Transportation Funding to Projects That Meet Regional Transportation Needs. Projects Provide Greater Choices and Options Regarding How to Travel in and Throughout the Region Thereby Reducing Congestion and Vehicle Emissions During Peak Travel Periods in the Region.; Activities Performed: Funds in This Grant Will Be Used for Marketing Support for Four Travel Management Organizations (Tmo) to Provide Education and Outreach Regarding Sustainable Travel Models That Reduce the Number of Single-Occupant Vehicles; Support for Six Transit Demand Management (Tdm) Organizations to Provide Strategies That Promote Travel Options and Alternatives to Single-Occupancy Vehicle; to Construct the Gold Line Bus Rapid Transit (Brt) Bielenberg Drive Bridge; and to Construct the Woodlane Station Park and Ride.; Expected Outcomes: Travel Demand Management (Tdm) Projects Provide Greater Choices and Options Regarding How to Travel in and Throughout the Region Thereby Reducing Congestion and Vehicle Emissions During Peak Travel Period in the Region. Construction of the Bielenberg Drive Bridge with Two Dedicated Bus Rapid Transit (Brt) Lanes Will Provide an Option to Single-Occupancy Vehicle Use with Bus Service That Offers Transit Customers Fast Comfortable and Cost-Effective Services Using Bus-Only Lanes. While Construction of the Metro Gold Line BRT Woodlane Station Park and Ride Will Provide Expanded Transit Service with the Intent of Attracting New Transit Riders to the System and Thereby Reducing Emissions.; Intended Beneficiaries: New and Existing Transit Riders Benefit from Cmaq Funded Projects Along with the Region Seeing Reduced Congestion and Vehicle Emissions During Peak Travel Periods in the Region.; Subrecipient Activities: The Regional Travel Demand Management (Tdm) Project Includes the Following Subrecipients to the Metropolitan Council: Hour Car Bicycle Alliance of MN and Mvta.
