Application Purpose: The Purpose of This Award Is to Provide Funding for the Replacement of Vehicles That Are Beyond Their Useful Life and Workforce Development Training Activities.; Activities Performed: This Funding Will Purchase 33 Fixed Route Hybrid Buses to Replace Buses That Have Exceeded Their Useful Life and Provide Funding for Training Operators Support Staff and Mechanics on the Hybrid Bus Fleet.; Expected Outcomes: Replacing Vehicles That Have Exceeded Their Useful Life Will Reduce Maintenance Costs Improve Reliability and Provide a Better Customer Experience. This Project Is a Crucial Step in Paces Long-Term Goal to Continue to Provide Excellent Public Transit with Cleaner Quieter More Modern and More Sustainable Vehicles. This Funding Will Allow Pace to Transition to Low-Emission Cleaner Vehicles While the Agency Continues Facility Upgrades to Accommodate Zebs as Part of the Agencys Goal of Operating a 100% Zeb Fleet by 2040.; Intended Beneficiaries: The Project Improves Equity Opportunity and Environmental Justice to Disadvantaged Communities. Replacing Buses That Have Exceeded Their Useful Life with New Hybrid Buses Reduces Air Pollutants as Well as Improves Reliability and Ridership Experience on the New Buses and Improves Health Due to Cleaner Air. Pace Provides Services to Schools Economic Generators and Employment Destinations - Which Provide Access to Opportunities and Improve the Local Economy. This Project Benefits Communities Facing Barriers to Affordable Equitable Reliable and Safe Transportation. Paces Operations Team Will Play a Vital Role in Integrating the New Hybrid Vehicles Into Existing Routes. Training Operators Support Staff and Mechanics on Operating and Maintaining the New Vehicles Is Critical in Ensuring These Hybrid Vehicles Are Intergraded Successfully Into the System.; Subrecipient Activities: None
