Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (Bil) – Carpe Diem: Catalyzing the Adoption and Rollout of Power Electronics to Distribution Infrastructure to Enhance System Performance Carpe Diem Project Is to Deploy Distribution Level Power Flow Controllers to a Large Utility at Scale, and to Incorporate This Technology Into Their Planning and Operational Practices. The Medium Voltage Power Flow Control Technology Under Consideration Is the Phase-Eq, a Commercially Available Distribution Automation Device That Balances the Flow of Power Between the Phases of a Distribution Primary. The Foundational Benefit, and the Measuring Stick for Success Will Be Increased Load Serving Capacity: System Reliability, Cost Efficacy, Electric Vehicle and Solar Hosting Capabilities of the Grid All Benefit Markedly from Increased Load Serving Capacity.
