Application Purpose: The Purpose of This Award Is the Replacement of a 60-YEAR-OLD Vessel the M/V Tustumena Which Is Approaching the End of Its Service Life.; Activities Performed: Activities to Be Performed Are Retiring and Replacing the M/V Tustumena with a Vessel That Provides Greater Capacity Modernized Safety Features Increased Seaworthiness and Enhanced Passenger Comfort.; Expected Outcomes: Expected Outcomes Are to Have More Fuel-Efficient Engines Diesel and Electric Propulsion Systems and an Efficient Design to Move Through the Water Easily. The New Vessel Will Make the Fleet More Resilient and Responsive to the Needs of Coastal Communities Through More Passenger and Vehicle Space.; Intended Beneficiaries: Intended Beneficiaries Are Coastal Communities Throughout Our System Including Passengers Visitors and Companies Conducting Business in Remote Areas.; Subrecipient Activities: There Are No Subrecipients to This Award.
