Application Purpose: The Purpose of This Award Is to Provide the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Its Subrecipients with Section 5311 Non-Urbanized Funding for Operating Assistance Eligible Capital Projects and Rural Transit Assistance Program (Rtap) Activities.; Activities Performed: Funds Will Be Used to Cover Eligible Operating Expenses Such as Driver Salaries Fuel Fringe Benefits Utilities and Insurance in Order to Continue Safe and Reliable Transit Operations. Funds Will Also Be Used to Cover Eligible Capital Expenses Such as the Purchase of Rolling Stock for Fixed Route and Demand Response Operations Stations and Stops Equipment Preventive Maintenance and Bus Support and Facility Improvements. Funds Will Also Be Used for Training and Technical Assistance.; Expected Outcomes: Outcomes Include the Continued Safe and Effective Operation of Transit Services for Rural Areas of Pennsylvania and the Replacement of Capital Equipment That Has Met Its Useful Life and Which Will Be Maintained in a State of Good Repair.; Intended Beneficiaries: Pennsylvania Transit Agencies and Citizens in the Rural and Non-Urbanized Areas of the State.; Subrecipient Activities: Operating Assistance for 14 Subrecipients. Intercity Bus Operating Assistance to One Subrecipient. Capital Assistance to Seven Subrecipients Including Rolling Stock Stations/Stops/Terminals and Support and Facility Improvements.
