Description

Application Purpose: The Purpose of This Award Is to Provide the State of Mississippi and Its Subrecipients Operating Assistance Administrative Assistance Eligible Capital Projects and for the Rural Transit Assistance Program (Rtap) to Assist the State and Its Subrecipients.; Activities Performed: Funds Will Be Used to Cover Eligible Operating Expenses Such as Driver Salaries Fuel Items Having a Useful Life of Less Than One Year Preventive Maintenance Etc. IN Order to Continue Transit Operations. Funds Will Also Be Used for Training and Technical Assistance and State Administration.; Expected Outcomes: Continued Safe and Effective Operation of Transit Services for Rural Areas of the State of Mississippi.; Intended Beneficiaries: The State of Mississippi Transit Agencies and Citizens in the Rural and Non-Urbanized Areas of the State.; Subrecipient Activities: The Following Subrecipients as Providers of Rural Transit Service Along with Two (2) Intercity Bus Operators Will Receive Operating Assistance Capital Funding for the Purchase of Equipment and Mobility Management.: Aaron E. Henry Community Health Darts; Bolivar County Council on Aging; Claiborne County Human Resource Agency; Community Development Inc.; Copiah County Human Resource Agency; City of Oxford; DJ Transit; Five County Community Transportation; Hinds County Human Resource Agency; Madison County Citizens Services Agency; Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians; Mississippi Valley State Mass Transit; Natchez Transit System; Northeast Mississippi Community Services; Nroute Transit Commission; South Central Community Action Agency; Starkville-Msu Area Rapid Transit; Mt. Zion Economic Community Center; Noxubee County Human Resource Agency; Central Mississippi Inc.; Sunflower Humphreys Counties Progress Inc.; Philadelphia Transit Inc.; Pine Belt Mental Health Resources; Icb Operators Delta Bus Lines and Grenada Tours Inc.
