Description

The Project Will Complete the Project Development, Environmental Review, and Final Design for the Reconstruction of Seven Rail Overpass Bridges and Bring All Track to Federal Railroad Administration (Fra) Class 6 Standards Between Mileposts 56.8 and 60.1 on the New Haven Line in Connecticut. Additional Work Includes Station Modifications, Realigning Track for Wider Spacing and Superelevation Around Curves, Installing Up to One New Interlocking, Additional Cross-Overs, Signal Modifications, and Improving Catenary Infrastructure and Rail Bed Drainage. These Improvements Align with the Goal of Increasing the Maximum Authorized Speed from 70 Miles Per Hour (Mph) Up to 90 MPH Along the Corridor Where Geometry Allows and Improving the Flexibility of Railroad Operations.
