Description

NJ Transit Is Requesting Federal Assistance in the Amount of $60734109 of FY2022 CMAQ/5307. Funds Will Be Used to Partially Fund the Purchase of Multi-Level III Passenger Rail Cars (113). Funds Will Be Matched with $12146822 of Toll Credit Revenue (Transportation Development Credits) as Permitted Under 23 Usc 120(I) for Non-Federal Share.purpose:the Purpose Is to Provide Operational Flexibility for Both Shorter Trains That Operate in Low Ridership Areas as Well as for Longer Trains That Operate in High-Density Areas Such as on the Northeast Corridor. Activities to Be Performed:this Project Involves the Design Purchase Delivery and Warranty of 113 Multilevel Type-Vehicles (Multilevel III Vehicles) Consisting of 58 Power Cars 33 Cab Cars 16 Trailer Cars and Six (6) Restroom-Equipped Trailer Cars to Replace the Aging Fleet of 160 Arrow III Emu Vehicles. Expected Outcomes:the Multilevel III Vehicles Will Feature New Customer Amenities Such as Usb Charging Ports an Infotainment System Led Lighting Power Restroom Doors and a Video Surveillance System.
