Description

Application Purpose: This Grant Requests Funds for Metrolink Infrastructure Rehabilitation Rolling Stock Component Rehabilitation and for Purchase Upgrade or Replacement of Equipment and Systems to Improve Condition Safety and Functionality.; Activities Performed: - Rehabilitate Railroad Assets Including Rail Ties Ballast Turnouts Switches Other Track Material Track Panels Grade Crossing Components Pedestrian Crossings Maintenance of Way Including But Not Limited to Minor Grading of the Railroad Right of Way Adjacent to the Projects Activities Like Making Sure Crossings/Turnouts Are the Proper Elevations or Signal Houses Have Level Ground for Placement Repair of Fencing Placement of Blocks Communication and Signal Components Train Control Systems (Including Positive Train Control (Ptc)) Signage Passenger Information Systems Asset Management Systems and Upgrade of Metrolinks Exit Gate Management Systems (Egms). Pedestrian Crossings Will Meet Ada Accessibility Guidelines. Provide Project Management and Oversight of Installation of the New Project Management Information System Setup a Secondary Data Center Location for Emergency Preparedness Acquire New Locomotive Simulators to Meet Training Requirements. Funds Will Also Be Used to Upgrade and Replace Metrolinks IT Systems Network Infrastructure and Assets. - Rehabilitate Upgrade or Replace Service and Shop Equipment Maintenance of Way Equipment and Vehicles Systems and Non-Revenue Vehicles. Purchases to Include Acquisition of Low and Medium Duty Zero-Emission Vehicles.- Rehabilitate Selected Rolling Stock Components and Subsystems Such as Door Control Components and HVAC Units Replace Seat Covers Install Cameras for Security Complete Railcar and F125 Engine Replacement and Overhauls as Per Manufacturer Specifications. - Rehabilitation Work Will Take Place Across Metrolinks Commuter Rail Subdivisions as Well as Within Metrolinks Facilities Such as the Central Maintenance Facility (Cmf) Eastern Maintenance Facility (Emf) Layover Yards and Buildings. Rolling Stock Component Rehabilitation May Take Place Within Vendor Facilities. Laus Water Line Replacement and Rehabilitation Work to Address Drainage Issues Upgrade Lighting Upgrade Safety and Security Elements and Modernize Plumbing. Installation of Additional Fall Protection to Meet Compliance Requirements. ; Expected Outcomes: Rehabilitation Work Will Keep Commuter Rail Assets in a State of Good Repair and Will Sustain Service Reliability and Operational Safety.; Intended Beneficiaries: The Entire Southern California Region Benefits from a Well-Maintained Commuter Rail System. Current and Future Riders Enjoy a Reliable Efficient System to Get Them to Their Destination. The General Public Receives an Improved Quality of Life That Public Transit Offers Including Congestion and Pollution Relief.; Subrecipient Activities: AS a Direct Recipient of Suballocated Funds Metrolink Does Not Intend to Subaward Funds.
