Description:this Action Approves an Award in the Amount of $26,676,000 to the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. This Agreement Provides Funding Under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (Iija) to Implement Resources and Priorities to Help Address Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (Pfas) and Emerging Contaminant Challenges.activities:the Activities to Be Performed Include Projects and Activities to Address Emerging Contaminants in Small or Disadvantaged Communities, Including, But Not Limited to, Researching and Testing; Planning and Designing; Treatment of Emerging Contaminants; Source Water Activities Related to Emerging Contaminants; Storage; Water System Restructuring; Providing Households Access to Drinking Water Services; Technical Assistance; Outreach and Education; and Workforce or Training Support to Public Water Systems.subrecipient:completing the Milestones Identified in the Grant Project Award, Ensuring Timely Deliverables, Procuring Professional Services by Soliciting Eligible Bidders.outcomes:the Anticipated Deliverables Include Results from Testing 1,295 Water Intakes (178 Surface Water Intakes, 66 Springs, and 1,051 Water Wells), Which Provide the Source Water for 784 Regulated Pwss Serving Approximately 88% of Tennesseans. The Expected Outcomes Include Carrying Out Projects and Activities Needed for Public Water Systems to Comply with the Safe Drinking Water Act, Such as Implementing Programs Which Will Provide Household Water Quality Testing; Responses from the State in Addressing Drinking Water Contaminants; and Any and All Activities That Benefit the Impacted Communities. Direct Beneficiaries of This Program Include All State Residents and Occupants, Both Permanent and Temporary of Tennessee.
