Application Purpose: The Purpose of This Budget Revision Is to Fund FY24 Capital with Unspent FY2020 Cares Funding and to Extend the Period of Performance of This Grant.; Activities Performed: SFY2020 Cares Capital Operating and Planning Funding Will Be Used to Fund an SFY2024 Capital Purchase of Replacement Electric Buses for the University of Georgia (Uga) for the Purpose of Serving Georgias Rural Public Transit Riders.; Expected Outcomes: New Electric Buses Provided by This Grant Will Allow the University to Continue Providing Transportation at Current Service Levels Via Replacement of Ugas Aging Fleet of Buses Through a System Funded by Student Fees. Uga Hopes with This Grant Opportunity to Be Able to Maintain and Even Increase Human Services in Athens Transporting the Community to and from Work Meetings Classes and Training and to Provide Continued Safe and Effective Transit Operations. Uga Seeks to Continually and Strategically Replace Aged Diesel Buses with Electric Buses and with This Grant Will Procure Eight (8) Additional Electric Buses Through an Existing Partnership with Proterra Inc. And Guidance from the Center for Transportation and the Environment.; Intended Beneficiaries: Georgias Rural Public Transit Operators and Riders in the Uga Service Area.; Subrecipient Activities: Outlined in the Attached Program of Projects.
