Application Purpose: Funds Awarded Will:-Fund Vehicle Purchases That Will Assist the Milwaukee County Transit Systems Efforts to Provide More Efficient and Reliable Transportation to the Fixed-Route Transit Riders in Milwaukee County-Provide Preventative Maintenance on Buses and Support Paratransit Operations-Help Fund Marketing Efforts to Attract New Riders to the System-Assist with Operating Costs for the Recently Implemented East-West Bus Rapid Transit Route; Activities Performed: -Purchase of Twenty-Eight (28) 40-FOOT Clean Diesel Buses-Contract Service for Paratransit Operations and Parts and Labor for Oil and Fluid Changes Brake Repair and Replacement Exhaust Treatment Systems Electrical and Ignition Systems Etc. On Milwaukee County Transit System (Mcts) Buses Used for Fixed Route-Assist with Marketing Expenses Used to Provide Outreach/Awareness to the Public-Provide Operating Support for the East-West Bus Rapid Transit Route; Expected Outcomes: -These Replacement Buses Are Expected to Offer Lower Emissions and Fewer Road Calls Resulting in a Cleaner More Reliable Service for Riders.-Continued Reliable On-Time and Safe Operation of All Milwaukee County Transit System Scheduled Routes and Paratransit Services.-Implementation of a Fare System That Can Be Upgraded on a Regular Basis by the Provider and Potentially Integrate with Future Fare Systems Used by Neighboring Systems; Increased Awareness of Mcts Routes and Options Among Residents and System Users. ; Intended Beneficiaries: All Current and Future Users of the Milwaukee County Transit System.; Subrecipient Activities: None
