Description:the Purpose of This Award Is to Provide Funding Under the Inflation Reduction Act to the Hawaii Department of TRANSPORTATION.#8239;SPECIFICALLY, the Recipient Will Improve Air Quality and Reduce Pollution at Honolulu Harbor and in the Surrounding Area Through the Deployment of Zero-Emission Equipment and Infrastructure at the Port. This Assistance Agreement Provides Full Federal Funding in the Amount of $56,732,500. See Terms and Conditions. Activities:the Activities Include Replacing Diesel Cargo Yard Tractors with Tractors Powered by Hydrogen Fuel Cells, as Well as the Purchase and Deployment of the Necessary Infrastructure to Support Hydrogen Usage. Other Activities Include Developing Workforce Training Programs and Educational Opportunities and Community Engagement. Subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:the Anticipated Deliverables Include the Purchase and Deployment of Approximately 57 Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Tractors to Replace the Existing Diesel-Powered Tractors and Installing a Hydrogen Fuel Station and Associated Storage. Other Deliverables Include Workforce Training on Hydrogen-Powered Equipment and Infrastructure and Conducting Public Outreach Efforts. The Expected Outcomes Include Decreased Nox and CO2 Emissions, Reduced Diesel Fuel Consumption, and Enhanced Ambient Air Quality and Associated Health Benefits for Terminal Personnel and Near-Port Communities. The Beneficiaries Include the Hawaii Department of Transportation (Grantee), Matson Terminals (Partner), and Sustainability Partners (Partner), and Near-Port Communities, Which Will Experience Improved Ambient Air QUALITY.#8239;
