Description:the Purpose of This Award Is to Provide Funding Under the Inflation Reduction Act (Ira) to Maryland Port Administration. Specifically, the Recipient Will Procure New Zero Emission (Ze) Vehicles and Equipment and the Associated Charging Infrastructure to Improve Air Quality Surrounding the Port of Baltimore (Pob) and Adjacent Disadvantaged and Underserved Communities While Advancing Maryland Port Administration's Mission to Become a Net Zero-Emissions Facility. Activities:the Activities Include: Purchasing Zero-Emission on Road and Offroad Equipment and Charging Stations; Scrappage of Internal Combustion on Road and Offroad Equipment; Utility Upgrades at Dundalk Marine Terminal (Dmt) and Seagirt Marine Terminal (Smt); Community Engagement Activities. Subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:the Anticipated Deliverables Include: Number of Zero-Emission on Road and Offroad Equipment and Chargers Purchased; Number of Internal Combustion on Road and Offroad Equipment Scrapped; DMT and SMT - Additional Transformers, Manholes, Switches and Power Monitoring Equipment, with Secondary Distribution; Port Tours, Establishment of a Hotline, Public Notification Through Ecoport and Website, an Updated Mpa Sustainability Strategy. The Expected Outcomes Include: Reductions in Emissions and Gallons of Diesel Fuel Used; Sufficient Power for the Charging Systems to Be Installed, Resulting in Ability to Power Zero-Emission Equipment; Establishment of Forums to Engage Near-Port Communities, Increased Capacity for Port Staff to Consider Community Perspectives in Decision-Making; Community Priorities for Air Quality Improvements and High Paying Job Accessibility; a Refined Approach to Stakeholder Engagement Focusing on Mpa's Environmental Initiatives. The Intended Beneficiaries Include the Maryland Port Administration (Grantee) and Local Community Residents That Are Impacted by the Port.
