Application Purpose: The Purpose of This Award Is to Provide Funding to Replace 33 of Nortas Oldest Vehicles with New Low-Emission CNG Buses and Upgrade the East New Orleans Facility (3900 Desire Parkway New Orleans LA 70126) to Support Consolidated Fleet Operations and CNG Fueling Infrastructure.; Activities Performed: Activities Include Procuring and Replacing 33 Aging Diesel Buses with New Low-Emission Compressed Natural Gas (Cng) Buses to Improve Fleet Reliability and Reduce Emissions. The Project Will Also Modernize the East New Orleans Facility (3900 Desire Parkway New Orleans LA 70126) Through the Installation of CNG Fueling Infrastructure Maintenance Facility Upgrades Ventilation and Structural Improvements and Related Site Enhancements Necessary to Support Consolidated Fleet Operations. Additional Activities Include Project Design Permitting Construction Equipment Installation Commissioning and Workforce Training Required to Safely Implement and Maintain the New CNG Fleet and Facility Systems.; Expected Outcomes: Maintain Nortas Goal for Riders to Have a Safe Reliable and First-Class Service in Addition to Reducing Carbon Emissions in the New Orleans Metropolitan Area.; Intended Beneficiaries: The Intended Beneficiaries Are the Commuters and Community Members of the New Orleans Metropolitan Area.; Subrecipient Activities: N/A
