Description

Purpose: Construct/Extend/Improve Safety Area. Activities to Be Performed/Expected Outcomes: This Project Improves the Runway 03/21 Safety Area to Enhance the Safety of Operations at the Airport. . The Federal Aviation Administration Worked with the Nation's 14 CFR Part 139 Certificated Airports to Complete All Practicable Improvements to Runway Safety Areas Prior to the Deadline of December 31, 2015. However, Some Airports, Including This One, Continue to Pursue Further Improvements as They Become Feasible. . This Grant Funds 31% of the Complete Project. This Grant Is Associated with an Airport Improvement Program Companion Grant, and Future Airport Infrastructure and Airport Improvement Program Grants That Together Fund the Eligible Portions of This Project. Intended Beneficiary: This Grant Will Provide Federal Funding for Airports Associated with Lihue, Hawaii.
