Purpose: By Analyzing Commercial Revenue Loss Information to Distribute Available Funding Across Eligible Disasters, Fisheries Has Allocated Funds to Respond to the 2018 Upper Cook Inlet East Side Setnet Salmon and 2020 Upper Cook Inlet Salmon Fisheries Disasters, and for the 2018 and 2020 Alaska Copper River and Prince William Sound Salmon Fisheries Disasters, Totaling $43,730,937 in Aid. Taking on an Administrative Leadership Role, Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission Will Coordinate with the State, to Meet the Unique Needs of Local Fishermen and Related Businesses in Accordance with the Magnuson-Stevens Act, the Interjurisdictional Fisheries Act, and the NOAA Fisheries Disaster Policy. With Allocations, Funds Would Specifically Target Activities, Including Research, That Restore the Fisheries or Prevent Similar Failures in the Future, as Well as Assist Fishing Communities Affected by Failures Related to the Economic and Environmental Sustainability of the Fisheries.
