Description

Application Purpose: The Purpose of This Award Is to Fund the Bus Replacements Some of Which for Bus Rapid Transit (Brt) Hoists and Related Equipment Facility Renovation Projects Including Satellite Facility Acquired with Fta Funds in July 2021 to Outfit IT for Transit Purposes. Formally IT Was Used as a Fedex Processing Center and Warehouse. There Will Also Be Training on the New Equipment Roadway and Other Improvements Which Will Help On-Time Performance.; Activities Performed: Funds Under This Grant Will Be Used to Support the Bus Replacement Purchases Some of Which Are for Bus Rapid Transit (Brt) Hoists and Related Equipment Facility Renovation Projects Including Satellite Facility Acquired with Fta Funds in July 2021 to Outfit the Former Fedex Processing Center and Warehouse for Transit Purposes. There Will Also Be Training on the New Equipment Roadway and Other Improvements Which Will Help On-Time Performance.; Expected Outcomes: Funding Will Allow the City of Madison--Metro Transit to Purchase New 60 Articulated Electric Buses with the Necessary Training and Equipment Renovate the Bus Facility in Order to Use IT for Transit Bus Services and Storage. This Will Allow for Service Expansion and Help Improve Safety. There Will Also Be Roadway and Other Improvements Which Will Help On-Time Performance.; Intended Beneficiaries: The Benefit for the City of Madison and Dane County Riders Will Be the Improved Transit Options Which Enhance the Public Transit Experience.; Subrecipient Activities: None
