Description
The Award Funds Project Development and Project Implementation Activities, Including Preliminary Engineering, Environmental Review, Final Design, and Construction, to Evaluate and Implement the Construction of a Bridge Overpass That Will Permanently Close the College Drive At-Grade Rail Crossing (Usdot No. 245617J). This Overpass Will Separate Vehicular Traffic from Bnsf Railway (Bnsf) Train Movements, Enhancing Both Safety and Rail Efficiency. Removing the At-Grade Rail Crossing Will Prevent Hazardous Material Trucks from Stopping in Live Traffic, and Eliminate Gate Arms, Flashing Signals, and Regulatory Testing, Ultimately Improving Track Integrity. Residents Will Benefit from Reduced Noise, as Train Horns and Signal Bells Will No Longer Be Required. The Project Aligns with Regional Transportation Plans and Could Support Future Front Range Passenger Rail Service to Cheyenne.
