Application Purpose: The Purpose of This Award Is to Provide $86750000 in Fy 2021 Federal Section 5309 Small Starts Discretionary Funds to Construct the West Valley Connector Bus Rapid Transit Project. (Discretionary ID #D2021-SMST-003).; Activities Performed: The Project Includes: Construction And/OR Minor Improvements at 21 Stations Comprising 33 Total Platforms of Which 30 Will Be New Station Platforms and 3 Will Improve Existing Station Platforms Including Improvements at Omnitrans West Valley Facility; Acquisition of Real Property and Easements; Construction of New Station Platforms; Upgrades to Existing Platforms for Signage and Lighting; Passenger Amenities and Improved Access Along Entire Line; Information Systems; Roadway Improvements and Transit Signal Priority Infrastructure; Design and Engineering; Construction Management; Permits; Other Items to Achieve Full Project Implementation; and the Purchase of 18 40-FOOT Battery Electric Buses for the Service.; Expected Outcomes: The Project Will Provide a Crucial Piece of the Transportation System in the Western Portion of Omnitrans Service Area with a Direct BRT Connection from Pomona CA to Rancho Cucamonga Ca. This Project Will Expand Travel Options and Accommodate a Larger Share of the Regions Growth.; Intended Beneficiaries: All Current and New Transit Passengers in Omnitrans Service Area Particularly the West Valley Service Area.; Subrecipient Activities: None
