The 2023 Local Meat Capacity Grant Program (Lmcap) Supports Independently-Owned Meat and Poultry Processing Businesses with Funds to Increase and Diversify Processing Options for Local Livestock Producers by Modernizing, Expanding and Decentralizing Meat and Poultry Processing Capacity. The Program Will Increase Processing Through Equipment Purchases and Installation, Facility and Equipment Upgrades and Other Eligible Activities as Defined in the Request for Application (Rfa). The Recipients of Grant Funds Will Be Small and Midsized Meat and Poultry Processors Throughout the United States. Ams Encourages Grant Applicants to Develop Proposals That Are Based on the Needs of Small, Underserved, and or Local and Regional Producers.
